Color Palette ( 彩色板 )

Intimate View of Wheat Fields. Palouse, Washington.

While wider views of the rolling hills were mesmerizing to look at, I also wanted to capture some close-up views of these seemingly manicured wheat fields during my visit. As the sun rose, the constantly changing interplay of lights and shadows painted these hills with different hues and rendered it with an abstract feel that you see here!

Updates: This picture was a finalist in the Outdoor Photographer's Shot with Tamron Landscape Photo Contest 2015 and was featured on the October 2015 issue of Outdoor Photographer magazine.

Corazon ( 夕醉心湖 )

Heart Shaped Lake with Mount Shasta in the Background. Mount Shasta, CA.

This is definitely one of my favorite views around Mount Shasta. The hike was a bit steep but not too difficult. However, hiking back in the dark was quite a challenge as there was no actual trail to follow for a big portion of the hike. Nevertheless, the view here is definitely worth the trouble! :-)

Farm Ville ( 金麥拂曉 )

Wheat Fields of Palouse. Palouse, Washington.

This is the place where the famous Windows XP wallpaper was taken! I enjoyed a beautiful morning watching the sun casting lights and shadows on these rolling hills. The texture on these seemingly manicured wheat fields is amazingly beautiful!

Winter Escapade ( 冰峭寒影 )

Frozen Waterfall Along a River Canyon. Alberta, Canada.

Winter was pretty much non-existent in California the past season, so it was quite delightful to experience the cold winter breeze when we were up there in Alberta. Although it was also relatively warmer for that time of the year during our visit, it did drop to -18C on our last morning there! We spent some time hiking and exploring, and this was one of the places we visited. The river is fed by glacier melt water, thus giving the frozen waterfall a cool blue tone you see here.

Spring Purple Carpet ( 花紅滿山春 )

Wild Owl's Clovers Covering the Slope of the Hill ( 貓头鹰三叶草 ). Livermore, CA.

Spring has sprung! It's wild flowers season again! My friends and I explored the East Bay hills nearby and found these flowers covering an entire facade of the hill. Apparently, this flower is native to California and are blooming in many places now! What we like about this particular bunch was how the setting sun lit the flowers, putting a radiant glow rim light on them!

Have a wonderful Spring season, everyone!

Updates: This picture won the Pashadelic Photo of the Month "Wildflowers" Contest in May 2015.

Breaking Dawn ( 紅日破曉 )

First Burning Sunrise of 2015! San Francisco, CA.

Although I have been shooting sunrises and sunsets for a while, seeing a dramatic one is few and far between. This morning was one of those lucky days! Minutes before sunrise, the whole sky lit up with colors! It was so intense, it felt as if the entire surrounding was painted red!

Inertia ( 神秘風動石 )

Moving Rocks of Racetrack Playa under the Milky Way. Death Valley National Park, CA.

This has to be one of the most mysterious places that I had visited thus far. Rocks here move by themselves and inscribe long tracks along this dried lake bed. While there were many theories and explanations being thrown around, this geological phenomenon was never explained until August of 2014 after scientists began using GPS-equipped rocks and time-lapse cameras to monitor the movements in 2011.

I drove over 2 hours off-road to reach here. While the ride was bumpy and not fun, the view that awaited me at the end of the trip was more than rewarding.

Do-Re-Mi

Sunflowers Backlit by the Setting Sun ( 燦爛向陽花 ) .

These sunflowers were all facing the same direction and seem to be greeting visitors with a big smile! While floral pictorial is not my forte and the clouds were a bit too thick than I wanted, I thought this is fitting for New Year's day post! ...May our lives be filled with more "sunshine" in 2015! Wish you all a Happy New Year!
